Herbalife Acquires Assets of Pro2col and Pruvit

March 12, 2025 by DSN Staff Writer

Herbalife Ltd. announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the assets of Pro2col Health LLC and Pruvit Ventures, Inc. It will now also have a 51% controlling ownership interest in Link BioSciences Inc.

Pro2col, a health and wellness digital application company, uses individual biometrics to provide personalized nutrition recommendations and deliver tailored health and longevity protocols, while Link BioSciences uses proprietary technology to process biometrics, biomarkers, lifestyle data and DNA to formulate nutritional supplements for customers.

A beta rollout of the Pro2col technology platform is expected to be available to select Herbalife distributors during the third quarter of this year with a full US release planned for Q4.

“By acquiring and leveraging Pro2col’s personalized digital technology, along with Link BioSciences’ manufacturing capabilities, Herbalife will be providing our expansive network of distributors with unique opportunities to expand their customer base through a personalized health, wellness and nutrition platform,” said Stephan Gratziani, Herbalife President and incoming CEO. “These investments further accelerate our vision to modernize our business and represent a belief in our business model that better positions us to become the world’s premier health and wellness company, community and platform.”

Herbalife’s acquisition of Pruvit’s assets will expand its health and wellness offerings with a new product category. Pruvit will continue to operate independently under its current ownership for up to two years, during which Herbalife can launch ketone products.

The transactions are expected to close in the second quarter of 2025 and will cost approximately $25-$30 million, with additional conditional payments based on future performance. Herbalife’s partnership with soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo will support the further development of the Pro2col platform.

“For 45 years, Herbalife has been committed to providing science-backed health and wellness products and a successful business opportunity,” Gratziani said. “We’re excited about these acquisitions and partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo, which will propel Herbalife into its next chapter of growth.”

Young Living Celebrates International Women’s Day

March 10, 2025 by DSN Staff Writer

Young Living championed women’s independence through fair-pay opportunities on International Women’s Day. At its partner farm Phytoprod in rural Morocco, Young Living provides opportunities for women to receive pay that is equal to their male counterparts, with wages deposited into their own bank accounts. The Phytoprod farm grows myrtle and rosemary and employs more than 1,000 people, 95% of whom are women, to hand-harvest the plants during peak season.

The Phytoprod fram team also supports women by helping them open bank accounts if they do not already have them. This ensures the women have direct access to their own earnings.

“I used to go to other cities to look for work,” said Soumia Khassouani, Phytoprod Nursery Manager. “Today I work close to home, so I was able to save money and take care of my life, my family, and my community too.”

Significant Developments in Avon Products Bankruptcy Proceedings

March 7, 2025 by DSN Staff Writer

Avon Products Inc. (API) announced significant developments in its bankruptcy proceedings.  A comprehensive settlement and asset sale has been approved and, as of March 5, the company has emerged from Chapter 11 with a clear path forward.

The company originally filed for bankruptcy in August 2024 to seek protection from debt and liabilities after a number of lawsuits alleging Avon’s talc-based products caused asbestos exposure and led to severe health issues for consumers.

In December 2024, the court approved the sale of API’s assets to Natura &Co, parent company of Avon, including a $125 million credit bid by Natura, the assumption of key contracts and a payment of approximately $3.1 million in cure costs. Natura also committed to a $34 million cash payment, funding the remaining $43 million of a debtor-in-possession financial facility, waiving certain secured debt claims and assuming a $5.9 million underfunded pension plan.

These developments are a significant milestone for Avon Products Inc. and usher in resolution to the heightened financial and legal challenges the company has endured.

Olive Tree People Close Second Year with Tremendous Growth

March 6, 2025 by DSN Staff Writer

Olive Tree People, a subsidiary of Oliveda International, Inc., announced an almost 1700% growth rate in its second year with sales of $104.5 million. The company stated that its growth rate outpaces that of other powerhouse brands, including celebrity brands like JLo Beauty by Jennifer Lopez, and growing 600% faster than Beautycounter performed in its second year.

“I believe the time is ripe as more and more of the 168.6 million women in the US are realizing the difference between conventional clean beauty and waterless beauty, and fewer and fewer of the 168.6 million women in the US are willing to spend money on up to 95% fillers, without achieving lasting results,” said Thomas Lommel, Olive Tree People Founder and CEO. “I am convinced that we are experiencing a renaissance of the senses in which soulful and meaningful products make the difference and can therefore offer a 365-day satisfaction guarantee. More and more people are listening to their inner voice, their intuition, and their common sense.”

In two years, the company has created what it calls a “waterless movement” in the US, welcoming more than 50,000 waterless beauty consultants, with expansion into Canada and Europe. Lommel forecasts that more than 125,000 consultants will join the company before the end of 2025.

Natura &Co Considers Potential Sale of Avon

March 6, 2025 by DSN Staff Writer

Natura &Co announced it is now in “exclusive talks” with asset manager IG4 about Avon‘s potential sale. The company had reported it was considering a sale of its Avon business outside of Latin America in early 2024, which was abruptly paused when its Avon Products unit filed for bankruptcy protection and then resumed in late 2024.

The company’s options have included potential partnerships, spin-offs or sale. By selling or divesting from Avon, Natura &Co hopes to create a strong cash flow from Latin America that would unlock more dividends.

Avon’s US business is not owned by Natura &Co and would not be impacted by the negotiations and sale.
