In its 2024 Sustainability Report, Mary Kay Inc. detailed its environmental, social and economic efforts for the year. These initiatives included water stewardship, a long-term partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, and sustainable sourcing practices that promote economic well-being for the 16 million women who work as Shea collectors in West Africa. The company also demonstrated efforts to reside at the forefront of the gender equality movement in digital practices through its partnership with the Equal Rights Trust, where Mary Kay pioneered research to eliminate gender bias in AI technologies.
“Sustainability has deep roots in the Mary Kay story,” said Deborah Gibbins, Mary Kay Inc. Chief Operating Officer. “We like to say we did it before it was ‘cool.’ Our iconic founder, Mary Kay Ash, was passionate about not only changing the world, but protecting it. I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished this year—and every year—in realizing her dream. I think she would be proud, too.”
