Mary Kay Inc. released a report detailing its global sustainability program, Enriching Lives Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow, and its vision for the social impact it will make through the year 2030 and beyond. This 2022 report offers insight on the company’s efforts since 2020, the beginning of what it has called its “Decade of Action,” as it strives to deliver sustainable change.
The report emphasized five key areas of focus: business excellence, product stewardship, responsible manufacturing, women’s empowerment and social impact. A few highlights from these efforts include:
- Gender diversity in leadership—The executive team is 54% female
- Being named one of the 2022 U.S. Best Managed Companies by Deloitte
- 12% of the company’s indirect suppliers in the U.S. are women, minority or veteran-owned
- Receiving OSHA Star Re-Certification Credentials
- In partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation, supported three global reforestation projects
- The awarding of 14 STEAM grants to young women with dreams of careers in STEAM-related industries
- Donation of more than $1.3 million to global organizations working to support women
