Arbonne Earns B Corporation Certification To Kick Off 40th Anniversary Year

January 28, 2020 by DSN Staff Leave a Comment

Arbonne International announced its newly earned B Corporation (B Corp) certification, celebrating the brand’s strong environmental commitments to sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship.

Through the certification, Arbonne is committing to not only consider profit but people and the planet, while leading change in the wellness industry.

B Corp certification is the only one of its kind, comprehensively measuring a company’s social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Businesses are verified by the nonprofit B Lab for their measurable impact on people and planet, and unlike traditional corporations, are required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: customers, workers, communities and the environment. Achieving B Corp certification further signifies Arbonne’s commitment to be a mission-driven company that empowers people to flourish.

With 40 years of expertise, Arbonne continues to pioneer clean, plant-based products. Arbonne’s new brand platform focuses on a holistic approach to healthy living that improves the MIND. BODY. SKIN.™. With 84 percent of the world experiencing stress, Arbonne is looking to address a positive mind-set in tandem with a healthy gut to innovate around the MIND. BODY. SKIN.™ connection, bringing nutrition and skincare to a new frontier.

“Sustainability is a journey, and our B Corp certification is just the beginning,” said Jean-David Schwartz, CEO of Arbonne. “Arbonne is using its business success as a force for good as we build a more inclusive economy for the world. We hold ourselves accountable to support a thriving planet and improved community well-being. We have set impactful goals and will not waiver from our commitments.”

One of Arbonne”s newest sustainability programs is ArbonneCycle™, a new recycling program for its hard-to-recycle packaging and componentry in partnership with TerraCycle®. Arbonne is making strides to empower business leaders and clients to live waste-conscious lives. The program recently launched in the U.S. with plans to expand globally in the future.

“Arbonne’s sustainability pillars that guide all decision making are: Environmental Impact, Employee Welfare, Company Governance, Customer Welfare and Community Impact,” said Schwartz. “Through this major milestone, we voice our commitment to always balance people, planet and profit.”

Through B Corp certification, Arbonne joins a global network of more than 3,000 companies including Patagonia, Toms Shoes, Ben & Jerrys, and Athleta. As a member of this purpose-driven B Community, Arbonne has set its sights on being not only the best in the world, but the best for the world.

“We are proud to welcome Arbonne to our growing community of Certified B Corporations who are redefining success in business to balance both profit and purpose,” said Andy Fyfe, senior manager, B Corp Growth & Activation. “Arbonne’s move to certify as a B Corp signals a wider societal interest in the power of business to provide long-term value for all stakeholders, including workers, community, and the environment.”

Thirty-One Gifts, Harlem Globetrotters Join the On Our Sleeves Movement

January 28, 2020 by DSN Staff Leave a Comment

Thirty-One Gifts and the Harlem Globetrotters have joined the On Our Sleeves™ Movement, a national effort to transform children’s mental health.

The movement, spearheaded by Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, was created to address the fact that one in five children is living with a mental condition. Organizations like Thirty-One Gifts and the Harlem Globetrotters are supporting the platform with their latest products with a purpose and educational curriculum aimed at breaking the stigma surrounding children’s mental health.

Harlem Globetrotters Animal Hyche and Hops Pearce and Thirty-One Gifts, in collaboration with Nationwide Children’s, hosted a school assembly at Vickery Elementary in Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) to celebrate the launch of a new mental health curriculum designed for 3rd–5th graders. Vickery Elementary is the first of 300 elementary schools to receive the “Share Your Feelings” school program, which is available for free download to teachers across the U.S.

Vickery Elementary Principal Adam Gray exclaimed, “Vickery is thrilled to host the Harlem Globetrotters and Thirty-One Gifts. The On Our Sleeves movement to transform the mental health of children is both powerful and welcome at Vickery, and we appreciate everyone who has helped make this opportunity possible.”

Designed to raise awareness and funds to support life-changing research to help kids everywhere, Thirty-One Gifts created the new On Our Sleeves “products with a purpose” collection. The products were delivered to the entire Vickery Elementary student body and staff. Thirty-One Gifts also presented the school with new supplies and a donation check for the PTA.

“It’s heartbreaking to realize so many children with mental and behavioral health issues are suffering in silence,” said Cindy Monroe, founder and CEO of Thirty-One Gifts. “I started Thirty-One Gifts to help change the lives of women and I believe that in joining and supporting the On Our Sleeves movement, our network of consultants can help change the lives of families across the United States by increasing awareness and helping to fund this national movement to transform children’s mental health.”

On Our Sleeves launched on World Mental Health Day in 2018. The movement aims to build a community of support for children and families living with mental illness through advocacy, education and fundraising for much-needed research.

Jeunesse Donates $100,000 for Australian Bushfire Aid and Recovery Efforts

January 24, 2020 by DSN Staff Leave a Comment

Jeunesse Global® has donated $100,000 to aid children, communities and natural habitats affected by the bushfires that have ravaged Australia.

The bushfires have claimed the lives of 28 people and more than 1 billion animals.

The aid has been provided through the company’s nonprofit foundation, Jeunesse Kids™, which bestowed grants to three separate nonprofit organizations that are working to meet both immediate and long-term needs of the hundreds of communities that have been affected.

With an estimated 2,000 homes destroyed, and thousands of families displaced, many children are coping with the associated trauma. Jeunesse Kids has donated $15,000 USD to Save the Children Australia. This donation will be used to set up child-friendly spaces in evacuation centers staffed by child crisis specialists who can help the children process their experiences while their parents address critical tasks to help them get back on their feet.

A $50,000 USD grant to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal Disaster Resilience and Recovery Fund will be used to provide communities with resources for long-term recovery efforts, with an emphasis on infrastructure projects benefitting families and children.

A $35,000 USD grant to WWF Australia will help save wildlife and restore natural habitats once the fires have cleared. This donation will support wildlife response, habitat restoration, and the implementation of solutions to help conserve Australia’s natural resources for generations to come.

“Our hearts go out to the communities, families, children, and animals who have been impacted by the bushfire crisis,” said Jeunesse Chief Visionary Officer Scott Lewis. “The Jeunesse Family around the world stands with all Australians in their time of great need and we are honored to support these organizations and their efforts to address the immediate and long-term needs of these communities.”
