Oliveda, Olive Tree People and Olive Rose joined designer Bibhu Mohapatra at New York Fashion Week in a collaboration that culminated in a show in the Grand Ballroom of The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan. The runway designs featured the iconic olive leaf and the sensuality of the rose in a dress that leveraged the ancient to influence the modern.
“For thousands of years, the olive tree has represented beauty, strength and life,” said Thomas Lommel, Olive Tree People Founder. “Bibhu did not simply place olive leaves and roses on a dress. He translated the soul of our world into couture. On Monday, the olive tree will no longer stand beside the runway. It will walk it.”
Luis Casco, Olive Rose Chief Celebrity Makeup Artist, was also in attendance, directing a team of more than 20 makeup artists as they created runway beauty looks for models and VIP guests. This is Olive Rose’s second New York Fashion Week appearance, and this year the brand moved beyond backstage prep to serve as inspiration for Mohapatra’s designs.
Front row guests of the runway show received individually hand-braided olive crowns as well as the new Oliveda hydroxytyrosol hydrogel face masks and eye patches.
