According to a new study by KPMG LLP, a US-based audit, tax and advisory firm, roughly half of Gen Z workers expect at least 20% of their future full-time jobs will be AI-automated. The study revealed that while older generations appear to be concerned about engaging too readily with AI, younger and future workers are embracing it as a tool that can help them work faster and more efficiently. In other words, the study stated, “Gen Z is making AI work for them.”
Not surprisingly, younger generations are more likely to incorporate AI into their daily lives. In fact, 89% of Gen Z participants said they use generative AI at least once or twice a week, and 60% said they believe they are more experimental with AI tools when compared to older generations.
Younger generations are not without concern about AI usage, however, stating that their top concern was an over-reliance on AI that might dampen creativity or critical thinking skills, followed by the fear of AI’s misinformation tendencies and potential for bias.
