The Direct Selling Association (DSA), along with the Utah Direct Selling Coalition, testified before the Delaware Senate Banking, Business, Insurance and Technology Committee, voicing strong opposition to House Bill 162. The Delaware Bill, which the DSA described as “an unprecedented threat to the direct selling business model,” has led to intense pushback from the direct selling community, but was passed by the Delaware House by a vote of 27-11.
In their testimony, DSA CEO Dave Grimaldi and other direct selling leaders asked for smart reform over blanket rules that punished honest entrepreneurs, saying the “DSA supports smart, targeted consumer protection—but not laws that punish responsible businesses and stifle opportunity for ethical entrepreneurs.”
