Recent findings show LifeVantage’s GLP-1 system could activate weight management. In an in vitro study conducted on specialized L-cells in the colon, where the body naturally produces the weight management and glucose regulating hormone GLP-1, LifeVantage reported promising results of its upcoming two-product system for activating GLP-1 production.
This two-product system is designed to enhance the body’s natural GLP-1 production by directly activating L-cells and optimizing the gut microbiome environment. Research in the study focused on finding the synergistic potential of the two-product system and used ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) to quantify GLP-1 production.
Results from the study revealed a significant increase in GLP-1 production and a synergistic activation of the key genes responsible for its synthesis and regulation, as well as a downregulation of DPP-4 gene expression, which allows for more GLP-1 availability within the body.
“LifeVantage remains committed to ensuring our consultants experience business success with products that are second to none,” said Steve Fife, LifeVantage President and CEO. “This product will open doors to new consumers and an untapped market, adding to our already industry-leading consultant opportunity. We are excited by the scientific evidence supporting the claims of our new GLP-1 system and we are thrilled to be able to introduce the this system beginning in October.”
The company also conducted a clinical trial with 60 participants and assessed the impact of its two-product system on their weight management, food cravings and overall wellbeing. Participants were divided into three sets to provide a control group that could compare the product system’s impact when used alone and when combined with diet and exercise guidance.
“We are thrilled to have completed this key phase of our research and for the results we are seeing with these products,” said Lisa Barnes, LifeVantage Vice President of Research, Development & Regulatory. “The data from this human clinical shows a remarkable ability of our unique two-product system to address weight management challenges through the natural activation of the health-supporting hormone, GLP-1. We remain confident that our science-backed approach will provide innovative solutions to meet the growing demand for effective, naturally supported weight management.”
