Swedish beauty brand Oriflame announced a partnership with Active Ants, which helps brands streamline their order fulfillment process through automation, as it launches a new warehouse in the UK. This collaboration is expected to not only boost order accuracy to a rate of 99.9%, but will also increase efficiency, processing orders 50% faster than traditional methods.
Oriflame’s 250,000+ square foot warehouse provides up to 60% more capacity and can contain more than 180,000 bins through its advanced storage solution called AutoStore. From these bins, the Active Ants robots will lead the picking and packing process throughout the warehouse, handling approximately 85% of orders.
The implementation of robots will lower Oriflame’s warehouse energy consumption to 100 watts per hour, while the warehouse itself is fitted with sustainability-minded features, including 1,000 roof solar panels, the capability to collect and utilize rainwater, and reducing cardboard usage by 40% bycutting all shipping boxes down to size.
At full capacity, more than 250 people will work alongside 400 robots.
“We are very excited about the launch of our new warehouse in the UK,” said Sofia Radomska, Oriflame UK Managing Director. “This is a time of progress and expansion for the Oriflame brand, and it’s fantastic to see our Swedish outlook on beauty and wellbeing travelling overseas. Providing a world-class service is crucial, and Active Ants’ advanced technology will enable our ordering process to be more efficient and accurate, allowing our company to grow in a sustainable and prosperous way – I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!”
