More than 17,000 people registered for Medifast’s annual OPTAVIA Convention that filled and sold out the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The company described the event as its largest event to date, with thousands more people attending the event virtually.
Company executives and top leaders delivered educational sessions and panel discussions, including an OPTAVIA Coach-led session in Spanish. The OPTAVIA Community also raised more than $90,000 in cash and stock donations for No Kid Hungry and Living Classrooms Foundation as part of its philanthropic initiative, Healthy Habits for All, which provides underserved populations with education and access to critical resources to help generations adopt lifelong healthy habits.
“This year’s convention—our flagship event—exemplified the passion and energy among our OPTAVIA Coaches and Clients,” said Dan Chard, Medifast Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Today, we’ve served more OPTAVIA clients than at any other point in our company’s history. Now, we’re ready to broaden our impact and widen our reach in the $230 billion health and wellness market, and help more people live happier and healthier lives through our collective dedication to our mission of Lifelong Transformation, One Healthy Habit at a Time.”
