Herbalife Nutrition’s philanthropic initiative, The Herbalife Nutrition Foundation, is now partnering with the nonprofit Asociacion Mexicana de Bancos de Alimentos to address food insecurity in Mexico. This partnership will be the first of its kind for the company’s Nutrition for Zero Hunger campaign in Mexico.
“BAMX is doing remarkable work in Mexico and we are proud to partner with them as we provide food to those who are hungry and those in need,” said Alan Hoffman, executive vice president, Global Corporate Affairs, Herbalife Nutrition and President of the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation. “Our work through our Nutrition for Zero Hunger initiative is making a difference, reducing hunger and ultimately changing people’s lives. Yet we appreciate the gravity of the situation and this is why we have committed ourselves to leading in this area until everyone has access to quality nutrition.”
Through this collaborative effort, the company hopes to donate $50,000 worth of community-based food distribution to improve food quality in Mexico, which will help 7,250 families and provide more than 66,000 pounds of food.
“We appreciate this partnership with Herbalife Nutrition as our ally in prioritizing nutrition and providing food for those who need it most,” said María Teresa García Plata, General Director of the Food Bank Network of Mexico. “The donation will help us to buy enough food to distribute nationally through our 55 food banks and feed more than 30,000 people in one month.”
