The Mary Kay Ash Foundation continued its commitment to support women in need and help create a safer world for women that is free from abuse. This year, the Foundation awarded four grants, totaling $100,000, to domestic violence shelters in North Texas, including:
- Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, which supports 2,800 women and children with lifesaving services and works to prevent future patterns of abuse.
- The Family Place, the largest family violence service provider in Texas.
- Denton County Friends of the Family, the only provider of free, comprehensive services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Denton County.
- Hope’s Door New Beginning Center, a Collin County service provider that hosts two emergency shelters and offers individual counseling and legal support.
To date, the Mary Kay Ash Foundation has donated more than $58 million to domestic violence initiatives across the US, making sure women have access to resources like trauma counseling, emergency shelter, child and medical care, mental health support and legal aid.
