Herbalife, in partnership with LA Galaxy and the Garden School Foundation, hosted the third annual Thanksgiving Cookoff at Dignity Health Sports Park. The event began with a soccer clinic for 50 students from local schools and included a tour of the LA Galaxy’s community garden, where students learned about sustainable farming and the importance of eating fresh produce as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Matthew Lindblom, executive chef for LEVY Restaurants at Dignity Health Sports Park, led a hands-on cooking session to create a three-course Thanksgiving meal while LA Galaxy mascot Cozmo assisted the young participants.
“Herbalife is committed to helping people lead healthier lives, and this event is a wonderful way to bring that mission to life for local students,” said Jennifer Guran, Herbalife Director of Global Sports Marketing and Partnerships. “By partnering with LA Galaxy and the Garden School Foundation, we’re not only teaching kids the importance of nutrition and sustainability, but also giving them the tools to make healthier choices both on and off the field. This Thanksgiving cookoff is a celebration of community, wellness, and fun.”
The Joint Community Partnership Fund, a collaborate effort between Herbalife and LA Galaxy, supports local organizations and nonprofits like the Garden School Foundation, which serves more than 3,200 students across ten Title 1 elementary schools.
“We are proud to be part of a program that not only provides students with the chance to learn soccer but also teaches them the importance of nutrition and sustainability,” said Tom Braun, LA Galaxy President of Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer. “This Thanksgiving cookoff exemplifies our commitment to empowering youth in underserved communities with the tools they need to live healthy, active lives.”
