Vistra, the parent company of Ambit Energy, is offering assistance to families experiencing difficulties as a result of the impact of Hurricane Beryl. The company has already pledged $1 million to help Texans with their critical needs and recovery efforts, and will also make additional Energy Aid funds available as well as bill-payment assistance and flexibility.
“This devastating storm has significantly affected the lives of millions, and we are committed to helping those communities in distress,” said Scott Hudson, president of Vistra Retail. “The impacts go far beyond the storm itself as many Texans lost power during sweltering summer heat and have lost vital resources such as food and medicine. Our hope is that this contribution will help to provide relief and comfort to those still dealing with Beryl’s aftermath.”
Vistra’s donation will be distributed to its charity and social services partners working directly with those in need. The company’s own Energy Aid program will help customers with their electric bill costs.
“When our customers are dealing with the hardship of rebuilding, we don’t want them worrying about whether to pay their electric bill or buy groceries,” Hudson said. “By utilizing our Energy Aid funds, they can free up that money to use on other necessities.”
