USANA Health Sciences, along with its philanthropic organization USANA Foundation, has partnered with English soccer club AFC Bournemouth to support local children and families dealing with food insecurity. Through a matching grant, the USANA Foundation will collaborate with the Cherries Community Club, so that together they can continue to serve eight local schools through a weekly breakfast club.
USANA began a partnership with AFC Bournemouth in 2015 and has been committed to the health and performance of the team’s players. Broadening these efforts beyond the field to combat child hunger and leverage shared strengths to positively impact community health was a natural next step for both organizations.
“Our mission at the USANA Foundation is to develop a network of communities built on long-lasting, sustainable, and nutritious food,” said Brian Paul, USANA Foundation President. “Our hope is that this initiative will help fulfil our mission and create a positive impact on the community. Food poverty and insecurity is an issue in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area and I am so happy that we can provide these kids with a healthy breakfast and access to a strong support system before school.”
