Herbalife’s Lifestyle Intervention Program has been recognized by the US national public health agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as a CDC Certified Diabetes Prevention Program.
This announcement coincides with National Diabetes Awareness Month, which brings attention to the reality that 38 million Americans live diabetes and 97 million live with prediabetes, which leads to type 2 diabetes. The CDC points to evidence-based solutions, like CDC-recognized programs, to reduce type 2 diabetes risks by more than half.
“We are excited that we will be offering a CDC-recognized lifestyle change program, a curriculum-based approach that focuses on behavior change to help improve weight loss, and is backed by scientific evidence,” said Dr. Kent Bradley, Herbalife’s Chief Health and Nutrition Officer. “Herbalife is the first direct selling company to be a provider of this CDC-recognized program.”
