The Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF) sponsored a conference at Emory University where academics, state and federal regulatory officials, consumer protection advocates and industry representatives discussed how to build and sustain trust in the marketplace, particularly in regard to the direct selling industry.
Hosted by DSEF Fellow Dr. Sandy Jap, Professor of Marketing at Emory University, and Dr. Kent Grayson, Associate Professor of Marketing at Northwestern University, the event featured sessions related to building a healthy marketplace and included insights from professors who have studied the direct selling channel, advocates who question industry practices and regulators proposing new business regulations.
“This academic conference welcomed all points of view and involved some of the most esteemed academic minds in the country,” Dr. Jap said. “This kind of dialogue is vital to the development of good business practices and effective public policy.”
