In a memo released yesterday, Matilda Jane Clothing announced it is “winding down its business” and terminating its relationship with its independent distributors, known as Trunk Keepers.
The statement pointed to financial difficulties as the cause of this unexpected closure and said the company had been negotiating a sale of substantially all of its assets in order to preserve jobs and the business overall, but the sale did not materialize.
Matilda Jane Clothing was established by Denise DeMarchis in 2005.
