Herbalife Nutrition and its philanthropic organization Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF), as part of the company’s Nutrition for Zero Hunger (NFZH) initiative, joined The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN), an international nonprofit that seeks to alleviate food insecurity in almost 50 countries. The new partnership will include a two-year effort to address malnutrition and global hunger funded by a $300,000 grant from HNF, and will specifically serve the Southeast Asia Food Bank Incubator program, which focuses on utilizing food bank development and eliminating food waste in Indonesia and Vietnam.
The GFN Food Bank Incubator Program has been providing technical support, mentoring, best practices and partnership opportunities to new food banks in high-need regions since 2019.
“The Global FoodBanking Network has decades of experience addressing food insecurity in areas its most needed and shares our mission to prioritize quality nutrition in the process,” said Jenny Perez, Executive Director of the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation. “With the number of people facing hunger continuing to rise, it’s imperative that we support programs that promote sustainable solutions grounded in education, so that no one has to worry about from where or when their next meal will come.”
