AdvoCare Senior Manager in Research and Development, Dr. Lauren Horton, Ph.D., was included in the Dallas Women of Impact leaders for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.
The Women of Impact leaders raise funds for Go Red For Women, a “comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.” The group’s efforts began in early February and will continue through March.
AdvoCare showed its support for this effort and Dr. Horton’s involvement through a $20,000 donation to the American Heart Association, raised through a portion of the sales from the brand’s OmegaPlex® Omega-3 Fatty Acid dietary supplement.
“I’m passionate about women’s health and am thrilled to participate in a campaign that is focused on improving the lives of women,” Dr. Horton said. “My biggest hope is this group will raise necessary funds and awareness for the American Heart Association to build awareness of heart disease in women and help them overcome the disease. My research background and role at AdvoCare has provided a lens into the importance of heart health in women and with my involvement, I can act directly to continue to improve women’s heart health.”
Dr. Horton’s role at AdvoCare includes helping others improve their quality of life and health through proper supplementation selections.
