Primerica has been selected for inclusion in the 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). Primerica is one of 380 companies across 11 sectors to be selected.
“Primerica is committed to diversity, equality and inclusion in all areas of our business, including the number of women in leadership roles and in our talent and succession planning programs,” said Glenn Williams, Primerica CEO. “We’re proud our company has been recognized as one of the 138 U.S.-headquartered companies to be included in the 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index.”
The GEI serves to offer transparency to gender-related practices and policies within publicly listed companies and represents 44 countries and regions across a variety of industries. The comprehensive GEI scoring measures environmental, social and governance and makes this data available to investors as they assess company performance.
The gender equality index measures these five pillars:
- Female leadership and talent pipeline
- Equal pay and gender parity
- Inclusive culture
- Sexual harassment policies
- Pro-women brand
Primerica scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance as measured by the framework’s five pillars.
“The companies included in the 2021 GEI are expanding the ESG data universe to include gender-related data that investors are demanding today,” said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg. “Their commitment to disclosure is making the business case for inclusion and driving transparency in the markets.”
The GEI is voluntary and does not charge for association. Public companies with a market capitalization of $1 billion are eligible.
