LegalShield named Deborah D. McWhinney and Melvin C. Hall to its board of directors.
McWhinney, a business leader, and Hall, a civil rights attorney and author, join LegalShield’s mission to “protect and empower people with tools and services needed to affordably live a just and secure life.”
“LegalShield is driven to create a world where access to justice and security are equal for every human,” says LegalShield Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bell. “Debby and Melvin bring the right experience and passion to help us achieve both our corporate and societal goals. Melvin possesses a wealth of insights gained from his service as an assistant district attorney and through his many years of raising awareness on civil rights issues and practicing civil rights law. Debby, in addition to her financial expertise and knowledge of the cybersecurity industry, joins us with an impressive record in advancing women’s workplace equality.”
McWhinney built her career in the financial services and technology category, and serves on several corporate boards. One of her priorities has been to design programs that help companies quickly and effectively improve their gender diversity.
“LegalShield’s commitment to helping people get needed legal support and identity and security protection is a very important service,” says McWhinney. “This is a compelling business poised for accelerated growth.”
Hall is a shareholding partner and practicing attorney, as well as a public speaker on the topic of employment law and civil rights. Hall serves on a number of boards and is an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma.
“Last year alone, LegalShield helped its members save or recoup a combined total of over $20 million,” says Hall. “This factor, combined with access to humble, approachable, sincere legal and personal security professionals who want to help, is making a significant difference in members’ lives.”
