Safe water and access to proper sanitation are an integral component to creating a healthy community, which is why QNET’s philanthropic initiative, RYTHM Foundation, previously partnered with Water For Africa to provide a fixed water supply for more than 6,000 people in Tanzania. Today, the company continues its advocacy efforts as a participant in the ninth World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal, organized by the World Water Council. This is the first time the forum has been held in sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on how water security can encourage peace and progress on economic, social and political levels.
“This World Water Week, we are proud to advocate for water sustainability and support improved water infrastructure, especially in places majorly affected by water scarcity, such as Africa, the Middle East, and more,” said Malou Caluza, QNET CEO. “QNET has actively supported the World Water Forum and other water-based sustainability initiatives for many years.”
QNET will also be showcasing its HomePure Nova water filtration system, part of its larger HomePure Complete Water Line, which filters fine sediments without the use of a power source to create safe water sources in customers’ homes. As part of its COVID-19 relief projects, the company has donated multiple units to communities without access to a safe and sustainable water source, including hospitals in Casablanca, Morocco and City Hospital in Kazakhstan.
“The past two years have been particularly challenging as COVID-19 continues to place heavy stress on water and sanitation services across the globe–especially in developing communities with limited access to safe water,” Caluza said. “As a company with operations and customers in many developing economies, we have a duty to advocate for and take efforts to implement sustainable change in our supply chain and operations to improve water services for everyone.”
