Beautycounter’s parent company Counter Brands, LLC announced that Marc Rey will be appointed Beautycounter Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2022. Beautycounter Founder Gregg Renfrew will transition into a new role as Executive Chair and Chief Brand Officer. Rey and Renfrew will now work together to accelerate the company’s growth and continue to build brand awareness while strengthening Beautycounter’s omnichannel presence.
Since launching the company in 2011, Renfrew has been a vocal advocate of cosmetics reform and protective regulations. Her efforts and testimonies before Congress have resulted in the passage of ten legislative pieces, and she commits that she will remain dedicated to this social mission, the company’s mission and the industry overall.

Rey is a seasoned executive, and joins the company after spending years working with major global cosmetics brands. In his career, Rey has been known for his ability to scale companies through rapid growth and to implement operations that reflect a larger mission. In his new role, he will guide Beautycounter as it identifies new opportunities within its omnichannel strategy and finds new pathways toward growth.
