With a mission to aid millions of malnourished children, Mannatech is laying the infrastructure to support its social entrepreneurship platform. In 2013, the nutrition and skincare company launched Mission 5 Million (M5M), a movement to supply potentially life-saving nutrients to 5 million children worldwide. Mannatech has announced the formation of the nonprofit M5M Foundation to facilitate its ongoing charitable efforts.
Faced with the knowledge that an estimated 5 million children die each year from malnutrition, Mannatech utilized its real-food technology to develop supplements such as PhytoBlend, a nutrient-packed powder that can be added to any food. Since 1999, the company has purchased, donated and delivered PhytoBlend through the 501(c)3 organization MannaRelief. In 2010, Mannatech shifted away from charity model philanthropy and statement. “The establishment of a dedicated organization whose sole purpose is to expand and enhance these efforts is a natural progression for Mannatech and the M5M cause.”
