California-based Youngevity Essential Life Sciences recently announced its acquisition of Biometics International, a company specializing in advanced liquid nutrition. Youngevity’s portfolio of health and wellness offerings will now include the Biometics line of liquid health products.
Biometics, which manufactures all of its products in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practices set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has developed pharmaceutical grade products through biocellular micellization—a proprietary technology intended to boost the body’s absorption of essential vitamins and nutrients.
“We are excited about the Biometics acquisition as we expect it will expand our presence in the nutritional supplement market,” said Steve Wallach, CEO of Youngevity International. “This represents Youngevity’s third strategic acquisition over the past two quarters of 2013, and we are well positioned to continue this growth going into 2014.”
Youngevity’s other recent acquisitions include the Heritage Makers brand, whose web-based publishing software allows consumers to personally design photo books, cards and other printed keepsakes, as well as GOFoods Global, a global food company offering a line of nutritious extended shelf-life food products.
