Forbes recently sat down with Scentsy’s Jennifer Pugh at the fragrance company’s corporate headquarters in Meridian, Idaho. Pugh, Scentsy’s Chief Human Resources Officer, joined the company in 2007 as it planned to double its workforce of 65 employees. She shares how Scentsy has remained committed to its three founding principles of simplicity, authenticity and generosity while rapidly expanding to over 1,000 employees. Those principles served as a guiding filter for the company even as it began to attract top talent. Scentsy seeks to facilitate “work-life integration” for its employees, applying innovation to its corporate culture as well as its products. Pugh says the corporate culture flows from the top down: “I have the best job in the world because of the two individuals [Orville and Heidi Thompson] that lead this organization.”
