Closing out a record July, Vemma announced that the company doubled its sales within the last year. In July 2012, Vemma reached $10 million in monthly sales. Last month, the 8-year-old nutrition company topped the $20 million mark.
Vemma attributes the surge in sales primarily to its Verve healthy energy drink brand. Verve Bold joined the product line in January, generating record-breaking sales with over 4 million cans sold in the first five months.
Founder and CEO BK Boreyko says Vemma is looking to build upon its current momentum with several upcoming rollouts, including its flavored tea and coffee drinks—Verve ParTea and Verve MoJoe—and the Chris Powell Bod-e™ Shake in a ready-to-drink (RTD) can. Mark Patterson, Vemma’s Executive Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development, notes that Verve taught the company the power of instant gratification. “RTD is critical for massive acceptance and consumption,” Patterson said.
Vemma’s popular energy drinks have helped the brand attract a younger demographic of distributors and customers. Read this month’s Company Spotlight for more on how engaging and recruiting millennials has transformed the way Vemma operates.
