Avon Products Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Sherilyn S. (Sheri) McCoy as CEO. McCoy joined Avon effective April 23, and will also serve as a director on the company’s Board.
McCoy assumes leadership of Avon following a 30-year career at Johnson & Johnson, where she rose to become Vice Chairman of the company’s Pharmaceutical, Consumer, Corporate Office of Science & Technology, and Information Technology divisions. In this capacity she served on J & J’s Executive Committee with oversight for more than 60 percent of J & J’s $65 billion in revenues. Her responsibilities included stewardship for a broad portfolio of widely recognized consumer products including brands such as Neutrogena, Aveeno, Lubriderm, Clean & Clear and ROC.
While at J & J, McCoy represented the consumer products company on the board of PhRMA, the industry trade association, and as a member of the board of the National Quality Forum and of the Institutes of Medicine’s Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Healthcare. She serves as a board member of FIRST, a nonprofit organization created to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology; a member of the Rutgers University President’s Business Leaders Cabinet; and as a board member of Stonehill College. She also holds four U.S. patents.

Silpada Designs announced that Tom Kelly, a longtime Avon executive, has joined the Kansas-based home party company as its new President and COO. Kelly will work with Chairman and CEO Jerry Kelly and Co-Founders Bonnie Kelly and Teresa Walsh in leading Silpada through the next phases of its growth.
Kelly’s experience includes more than 30 years at Avon. Most recently he served as Avon’s Senior Vice President of Global Direct Sales, where he developed and implemented breakthrough sales initiatives and spearheaded a new level of integration between marketing and sales. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of U.S. Direct Sales; President and General Manager of Avon Germany; Group Vice President, U.S. Sales/Customer Care; as well as other positions since joining the company in 1980.
Silpada, whose primary focus is offering a unique collection of .925 sterling silver jewelry, was acquired by Avon in 2010 and now has independent representatives throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

MonaVie, a health and wellness company, announced that Jeff Graham has been named Executive Vice President of Global Product Strategy.
Graham has played a major role at MonaVie since 2005, initially serving as the company’s Managing Director of Product Development before being named Vice President of Product Management in 2008. Most recently, he has served as President of MonaVie’s North America market.
MonaVie also announced that Randy Schroeder has been named President of the company’s North America market. Schroeder adds this new responsibility to his current role as President of MonaVie’s Europe market.
In 2009, Schroeder joined the corporate team as an International Distributor Ambassador after having become a top distributor in the field. In June 2011, he was named president of the company’s Europe and Middle East markets, and in the nine months since, those markets have experienced a 180 percent increase in sales.
MonaVie started with the acai berry in 2005, and has a global network of more than 1 million independent distributors in 21 countries.

Sportron International announced the appointment of Kevin Harding as President of Sportron U.S.A. Harding has been with Sportron for over 15 years and has worked in every department within the company. His most recent position was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He replaces Sportron’s Co-Founder, Keith Harding, who will continue as Sportron’s CEO and International President. As President, Kevin Harding will be responsible for developing strategies for increasing recruiting, retention, and expansion into the ethnic market.
To further strengthen its management team, the Board of Directors also approved the following appointments: Lenda Fidelman has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing. Fidelman is the former manager of several Curves franchises, a co-author of Networking for Novices, and a certified Weight Management Trainer from the Cooper Institute. Her responsibilities will include implementing new marketing and technology systems to improve Sportron’s communications and branding. In addition, she will train field leaders to become certified weight-management consultants.
Charlotte Gladden has been appointed Director of Operations. Gladden brings 30 years’ experience in retail operations, production planning, training and support. Most recently Gladden held a senior management position with JCPenney. Her responsibilities will include streamlining both purchasing and inventory systems and control.
Sportron was founded in 1992 and sells weight-management, nutrition and personal care products using FoodMatrix® nutrients and herbs in specialized product formulas. Sportron has 300,000 business partners in 40 countries worldwide.

North American Power has announced the appointment of Jim Mannion as Senior Vice President. Building on more than 30 years of corporate experience in direct selling and network marketing, Mannion’s focus will be to support North American Power’s network with particular focus on strategy, marketing and communications.
Mannion has held senior marketing roles at the corporate level at several major direct selling companies. As a seasoned general management and marketing expert, Mannion is known for his work at marketing high-growth businesses and developing strong brands.
North American Power is an energy supplier based in South Norwalk, Conn. The company currently serves customers in Connecticut, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania with plans to expand to additional markets in 2012.

Enagic USA Inc., the maker of Kangen Water® electrolysis devices, announced the following promotions: Takuo Kitagishi has been named Vice President. With an extensive knowledge of Kangen Water®, Kitagishi originally introduced the technology and science to Enagic about 20 years ago.
Kitagishi has been instrumental in the foundation of Enagic within Japan since 1987. In 1998 he worked with the founder to develop the network system in use throughout global operations.
In support of a unifying message Takashi Fukuda has been made the Director of National Sales. All branch managers will report directly to Fukuda as he works to raise sales throughout North America. With a deep background in data communication with such firms as NTT, Fukuda joined Enagic USA in 2003 and has held several sales leadership positions.

It Works! Global has announced the appointment of Tim Seat as new In-House General Counsel.
Seat will serve as the principal legal advisor for the It Works! Board of Directors and senior management team, as well as hold responsibility for corporate-wide legal function. Seat started his legal career as a prosecuting attorney. Before joining It Works!, Seat previously served as the in-house counsel for two direct sales companies with combined annual revenues of over $550 million.
