The Direct Selling Association of Canada recently announced that Dr. Derek Hassay, Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and a champion of the direct selling industry, was awarded the Service Alberta’s Consumer Services 2011 Minister’s Award.
The Minister’s Award pays tribute to an individual Albertan who has made a major long-term contribution to consumer protection and awareness.
As Chair of the DSEF’s Academic Program Committee, Dr. Hassay collaborates with educators across the country to develop programs that enhance the understanding of and appreciation for the socio-economic impact of the direct selling industry in Canada. He has also been integral to the DSA in upholding high standards of consumer protection and ethical business practices.
