The direct selling industry encompasses a wide range of companies, with more diverse products and services being sold directly to consumers all the time. Direct sellers have expanded their offerings from the more traditional vacuum cleaners and cosmetics to mobile service plans, custom clothing and group travel opportunities. One common denominator behind all of these companies is the innovative entrepreneurs who lead them. They recognize the unique opportunity to better the lives of individuals and partner with those individuals to build businesses.
Several direct selling companies and the talented individuals behind them have received recognition from the 2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The annual program names finalists and winners evaluated upon “excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, risk and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.” Candidates may be founders and leaders of companies that have achieved remarkable growth or CEOs who have made essential contributions during their tenure at the company.
Regional finalists in the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year Awards include Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, Co-Founders of Rodan + Fields; Kerry Breitbart, Founder and CEO of North American Power; Mary Young, Founder and Executive Vice President of Young Living Essential Oils; and Richard Wright, President and CEO of AdvoCare.
Congratulations to all of the finalists! Read more and follow the results of the program here.
