The Direct Sellers Association of Canada recently recognized its 2012 award recipients at the association’s annual conference held in King City, Ontario.
“We are delighted to acknowledge the strong contributions and efforts these companies and individuals have made to the direct selling industry,” said Ross Creber, President of DSA Canada. “Their dedication and passion have enriched the lives of many—not only those affiliated with their organizations but also those benefitting from the charities they support.”
The 2012 award recipients included:
IVAN P. PHELAN AWARD – As the industry’s highest personal recognition, the Ivan P. Phelan Award is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the direct selling industry in Canada.
This year’s recipient was Patricia E. King, Director of Sales and Support, Nu Skin Canada Inc. Patricia has been actively involved with the DSA for many years and has served the association with diligence and professionalism in several capacities throughout that time. She began her involvement with the DSA in 1995 serving on various committees and has actively contributed to the DSA as a member of its Board of Directors since 2001.
JOURNEY TO SUCCESS AWARD – The Journey to Success Award is designed to recognize up-and-coming direct selling companies that have dedicated themselves to achieving a high standard of excellence in business operations.
This year’s recipient was Scentsy Canada Enterprises. Since its expansion into the Canadian marketplace in 2009, Scentsy Canada has experienced formidable growth. The company’s success is inextricably tied to its commitment to Canada, and more specifically, its Canadian consultants and customers.
PARTNERSHIP IN PROGRESS AWARD – The Partnership in Progress Award is given to a DSA Supplier Member company that has provided a product or service that has had a measurable impact and contribution on a DSA Member company’#8217;s business.
This year’s recipient was D-Sol Media Marketing. D-Sol Media Marketing provides all-inclusive solutions for website design and SEO requirements and is a strong and engaged advocate of the DSA.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD – The DSA recognizes individuals for their significant contributions to the advancement of the DSA through participation and leadership on DSA committees, the DSA Board, in their community or in public service.
This year’s recipients were:

Phil Lanzarotta, Regal Gifts Corporation Bachir Saouaf, David & Goliath Communication Marketing Inc.
Susan Timmermeister, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Ltd.
DSEF CIRCLE OF DISTINCTION AWARD – The Circle of Distinction Award recognizes individuals who have devoted significant years of service and have made considerable contributions to the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF) and the direct selling industry.
This year’s recipient was Rhancha Connell, National Sales Promotion Manager, Vector Marketing Canada Ltd. Rhancha has made numerous significant and valuable contributions to both the DSA and DSEF. She has developed education and research partnerships to promote and support Canadian youth through the DSEF.
