Direct Selling Companies Continue Humanitarian Relief Efforts in Ukraine

BY DSN Staff Writer | March 31, 2022 | read / Daily News / International

In response to the ongoing crisis and tragic loss of life in Ukraine, direct selling companies have stepped up to deliver relief for those fleeing the violence, as well as those who remain in the country by offering essential supplies and support.

inCruises International provided more than $1 million in aid through its Ukrainian Relief program, which gives direct economic assistance to its Ukrainian partners and members. In addition to this corporate donation, the company’s partners, members and employees have also made donations, 100% of which will be used to provide immediate financial support for Ukrainian colleagues who need food, transportation, lodging, medicine and basic necessities.

“We stand with the people of Ukraine as their lives are being torn apart,” said inCruises Co-CEO Michael Hutchison. “We applaud our colleagues’ actions. We know our financial contributions and our team’s efforts will directly help the people of Ukraine during this humanitarian crisis.”

Young Living advanced salary payments to employees and paid pre-war level commissions to its brand partners in Ukraine for the month of February. The company also partnered with bussing companies to help evacuate its staff members and their families who wish to leave Ukraine. Through its Young Living Foundation, the company is also partnering with Asociatia Casa Share and British Ukraine Aid to help displaced families, and is matching donations up to $100,000.

“These are small things, but we hope they can begin to help make a difference,” the company posted in a statement on its website. “We will continue to monitor the situation and will adjust our tactics as needed to ensure we are doing our part to help ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Ukraine.”

Amway is assembling donations of supplies and money for Global Impact’s Ukraine Relief Fund, UNICEF, hospitals and shelters in Ukraine, and direct donations for employees in desperate need of safe passage and necessities. The company’s U.S.-based World Headquarters, as well as other Amway markets, have committed to match these donations without limits.

Herbalife, through its philanthropic program Herbalife Nutrition Foundation, is continuing its efforts to raise funds to support Save The Children’s Ukrainian Refugee Initiative.

Southwestern Family of Companies donated $100,000 to supply aid to families, fund relief and defense efforts in Ukraine, and directly support several of the company’s student members who are currently stranded in Ukraine and separated from their families. A portion of this donation will be given to SOS Children’s Village in Warsaw, Poland, where many refugee children from Ukraine have arrived. The company’s president, Dan Moore, also traveled to Poland in this month to volunteer and help distribute supplies.

MONAT Global Corp committed to match all donations up to $50,000 as it provides aid through the Polish Humanitarian Action and International Rescue Committee. This matching gift initiative follows the company’s initial contribution of $10,000.

PM-International provided humanitarian aid with a donation of 1 million Euros that will be used to fund emergency aid for refugees and affected people from Ukraine, and delivered 75 pallets of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and the surrounding border regions. PM-International customers and partners have supported these emergency relief efforts with the donation of an additional 78,000 Euros to date and, through a campaign with its distribution partners, donated more than 1 million meals in the form of energy bars. The company also worked to bring more than 50 refugees, including many children, safely to Germany and has provided support for them since their arrival.

Many direct selling companies who had a presence in Russia, including Nu Skin, Herbalife Nutrition and Oriflame, have also ceased all business operations in the country, with company leaders describing the tragedy as “devastating” and “nothing short of a nightmare for the people of Ukraine and peace-loving people everywhere.”
