Blyth Inc., a marketer of health, wellness and beauty products, as well as candles and home accessories, today announced that its board of directors has unanimously rejected an acquisition offer from CVSL Inc. Blyth, whose family of direct selling brands includes ViSalus and PartyLite, received the unsolicited conditional proposal from Dallas-based CVSL on Oct. 25, 2013.
Since April, CVSL has entered into agreements with The Longaberger Company and Your Inspiration At Home, as well as a handful of other direct sellers. The firm most recently signed a letter of intent with Paperly LLC, a seller of custom stationery and other personalized products. The acquisitions are in accordance with CVSL’s brand strategy of acquiring multiple privately held direct selling companies, while maintaining independent management of each brand.
