Herbalife Ltd. announced that it has appointed Monica Wood as Vice President, Consumer and Distributor Insights. In this role, Wood will help advance Herbalife’s commitment to ongoing, in-depth market research.
Wood joins Herbalife from MWA LLC, where she was an advisor to research agencies and corporate departments across the financial services, pharmaceutical and consumer sectors where she developed best practices, training programs and consultancy skills across marketing research, consumer insights and data analytics. Prior to her role at MWA, Wood held a number of marketing and research positions at Novartis International AG, a Swiss multinational pharmaceutical company, which ranked No. 2 in sales among the worldwide industry in 2010.

Mannatech Inc.

Mannatech Inc., an innovator and provider of naturally sourced supplements based on Real Food Technology® solutions, announced the appointment of direct selling veteran Angela Manuel as its new General Manager of Canada. In this position, Manuel will oversee all sales and operational efforts for Mannatech’s Canadian business.
Manuel joined Mannatech in 2010 as Director of Business Development. Over her tenure, Mannatech’s Canadian business has grown significantly in both sales and associate enrollments. Manuel has overseen and organized the company’s overall sales and field development efforts in Canada since 2010.
Prior to joining Mannatech, Manuel was manager of operations for another direct seller, where she served in several roles since 1992. She has also served on boards of directors with both the Direct Selling Association’s regulatory affairs committee and the Direct Selling Education Foundation.

Medifast Inc.

Medifast Inc., a manufacturer and provider of clinically proven portion-controlled weight-loss products and programs, announced the appointment of Jeannette M. Mills to Executive Vice President, Take Shape For Life. Mills has served on the company’s board of directors since 2008 and will report to Margaret Sheetz, President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mills joins Medifast having recently served as Vice President, Customer Operations and Chief Customer Officer at Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), where she directed all facets of customer engagement, including customer operations and the company’s call center. Other executive leadership positions held by Mills during her nearly 25-year career with BGE include gas and electric new business, electric system planning, resource management, project engineering and business transformation.
In conjunction with this appointment, Mills will no longer serve on the company’s board of directors. As a result, Medifast announced the appointment of Kevin G. Byrnes to its board of directors and the company’s audit committee, effective immediately.
Byrnes has more than 40 years of financial experience working in the retail and commercial banking industries. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Bay Bank. Previously Byrnes served as President/COO and Director of Provident Bank.
Medifast was founded in 1980 and is located in Owings Mills, Md. It sells its products and programs via four distribution channels: the Web and national call centers, the Take Shape For Life personal coaching division, Medifast Weight Control Centers and a national network of physicians.

MonaVie announced the appointment of Mauricio Patrocinio, Vice President of MonaVie Latin America, as a new member of the Ethics Board of ABEVD (Brazilian Association of Direct Sales Companies).
A native of Brazil, Patrocinio has actively participated in several initiatives, including the MORE Project, the preservation of the Amazon rainforest, and the development of the country’s economy by promoting sustainable harvesting and processing of açai and other fruits. He has served as General Manager of MonaVie Brazil, and now in his current role, Patrocinio has been instrumental in expanding MonaVie’s presence in Latin America.
